Session 5

Creating Safer Churches

The aims of Session 5 are to explore the hallmarks of a healthy and safe culture. This will be achieved through:

  • Discussion and reflection on the current culture.

  • Identifying positive aspects of the current culture and considering how to develop these further 

  • Identifying any negative aspects of the current culture and considering how to address these

  • A focus on the hallmarks of a healthy culture, in order that the session is positive and allows for building for the future

Toolkit

  • Projector or screen and audio equipment or speakers

  • Session 5 slide deck. (See below)
    If you do not have a projector or screen available, we suggest providing printouts

  • A picture of your church or, if easier, the name printed out

  • Post-it notes for each participant

  • Flipchart

  • Pens

  • Tee lights and matches

  • Refreshments (drinks, biscuits, fruit)
